Dari Kepedulian Pelanggan Menjadi Peluang Pendidikan: MDS Retailing Dukung Program YES Bersama Dompet Dhuafa

From Customer Generosity to Education Opportunity: MDS Retailing Supports YES Program with Dompet Dhuafa

MDS Retailing continues to strengthen its commitment to creating sustainable social impact, particularly in the field of education, through its Customer Donation Program, a nationwide initiative that enables customers to participate directly in giving back while making transactions at checkout counters across Matahari stores and other outlets under MDS Retailing throughout Indonesia.

In collaboration with trusted social partners, including Yayasan Dompet Dhuafa Republika (Dompet Dhuafa), MDS Retailing channels customer donations in the form of charitable contributions (infaq) to communities in need in a targeted and impactful manner. During the 2025–2026 period, this partnership is focused on supporting the YES (Youth Ekselensia Scholarship) Program, an integrated scholarship initiative designed for senior high school students from underprivileged backgrounds, including orphans, economically disadvantaged individuals, or mualaf (converts).

The YES Program is designed with a more holistic approach compared to conventional scholarship programs. Over the course of one full year, beneficiaries receive continuous development across three key areas: academic acceleration to prepare for higher education, character and spiritual development, and social leadership training. The donated funds are allocated to cover educational expenses and allowances, learning materials and supplies, as well as various character-building activities conducted on a regular basis.

The official handover ceremony for the Customer and Company Donationwas held on Thursday (May 30) at Menara Matahari, Karawaci, Tangerang. The customer donations presented at this ceremony were collected across three periods: March–April 2025, July–September 2025, and March–April 2026.

  Period Customer and Company Donation
March-April 2025 & July-September 2025 IDR 580,000,000
March-April 2026 IDR 210,000,000

Through this initiative, MDS Retailing not only makes it easier for customers to donate, but also helps create greater opportunities for the younger generation to learn, grow, and build a brighter future. The program is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4 on Quality Education and reflects the company’s commitment to encouraging public participation in driving long-term social impact through education.
